Enid Blyton (Briefly)
One odd thing that Mama Dog and I have in common is that we both read a lot of Enid Blyton when we were little. Anybody else have a store of Enid Blyton memories? I’d tell some of my own, but I’m practically asleep at the keyboard.

Oh, yes. I used to love The Famous Five series and had a terrible crush on Julian, the oldest boy of the group. I'd love to order a set of those books. Here's a link:

yeah, i read them all... first the famous five over and over and over... then i had to reread them in proper numbered order instead of out of order... then the 'adventure' series... it was funny cuz as a kid i was struck by the contradiction between the semi- modern depiction of the kids on the covers vs the original illustrations from the early printings that were inside.. those weird haircuts and baggy shorts... the stories themselves had a lot of repetitive plots etc but great secret passageways and castles and shit...
